The Happy Feet incursion provides children with a fun, engaging, and active learning experience. Through music, movement, storytelling, and dance, children develop important skills while enjoying a lively and positive environment.
Children build important motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, balancing, and coordination. These activities support healthy growth and help children gain confidence in their bodies.
Sports programs encourage teamwork, sharing, following instructions, and positive communication. Children learn how to take turns, encourage their peers, and feel proud of their achievements.
Trying new activities in a safe, supportive space helps children develop resilience and a sense of “I can do it!”
Activities are tailored to each age group and ability level, ensuring all children can participate safely and enjoyably.
Sports incursions bring excitement and variety to the day. Children love exploring new equipment, games, and movement challenges.
We are excited to share that we will be hosting a range of community incursions at the centre, including programs delivered by Manningham Council, as well as visits from local health services and emergency services. These incursions bring valuable real-world learning experiences directly to the children in a safe, familiar environment.
Community incursions are educational visits from professionals within our local community such as council educators, dental nurses, health nurses, police officers, and paramedics who come into the centre to share important knowledge, safety messages, and hands-on activities tailored to young children.
Manningham Council’s recycling and sustainability incursions teach children about caring for the environment, sorting waste correctly, and understanding how their actions can make a positive difference. These foundational lessons help build lifelong environmentally responsible habits.
Meeting police, paramedics, nurses, and council educators in person helps children:
These sessions allow children to learn through hands-on experiences, storytelling, role play, and demonstrations. Because they take place at the centre, children can explore and ask questions confidently.
Community incursions enrich children’s learning across multiple areas:
Depending on the program, children may:
All incursions are delivered by qualified professionals and are supported by our educators, ensuring every child feels secure, included, and engaged throughout the experience.
We incorporate Mandarin classes in our program on Fridays where the language is delivered through fun activities and many already popular preschool games – they’re all just in another language. Behind the fun lies a carefully structured program specifically designed for all age groups to learn a second language quickly and naturally. Each week new words and phrases are added and consolidated over the term. The teachers use beautiful resources and the lively sessions engage the children and room teachers in each activity. Learning a second language develops critical and creative thinking skills.
